What does a fascinating cloud of queen butterflies taking flight at once sound like? A waterfall, naturally.

YouTuber and tropical entomologist Phil Torres, who publishes brief documentary videos as The Jungle Diaries, patiently waited at Mexico’s Sierra Chincua Reserve to reveal this precise minute, when countless migrating butterflies chase winter.

” It is among the rarest sounds in the world,” stated Torres. “The sound of millions of monarch butterflies flying around is a world treasure and we require to secure this extraordinary types.”

It’s not just audibly stunning, either. Torres’ images of king butterflies clustered together on tree branches and trunks for the winter season are quite simply amazing.
